So its almost a week in the job.

Apart from being a stunned mullet, or headless chicken.. I’m starting to settle in.

The role is quite different to what I expected. It is large on Wintel, anal on change control & they love contractors. I’m project managing BMC Professional Services!

But I think I’m going to learn lots and lots and lots.

And I met the famous JJ!
He was quite taken aback when I said I went into Comin.. and ripped all the BMC stuff out and started over.. hehe

Its not so bad,

Apart from the fact I now have to shave every day.. thats a first ever!

And I’m getting into this Project Manager thing..

ooh, and my title: Systems Management Project Manager for Corporate Disaster Recovery.

BUT!
Told them I couldn’t start Monday. As they expected me to be full blown contractor.
(ie public Liability insurance/invoiceing them etc)

And Company A said, oops; it wasnt meant to be this way. Youre meant to be casual employed by us.. meaning they have to cover all that crap.

Which also means my $$$/h Rate just got improved by ~15-20%!

So, Ive been out celebrating. Not too hard tho, dont want to be drunk 1st day on new job.

BOOBS! And these just arent any boobs. They are pretty umm yeah impressive.

I swear they have low balled me on the contract rate.

And theyre trying to prevent renegociation of said rate if the contract gets extended

So It was sposed to be this afternoon…

And now its sometime tonight.

I’m not sure how they can realistcly expect me to just say yes to a contract. And thus be at work on Monday Morning!

Still don’t know what money they are going to show me.

Why do companies drag their feet so much.

Im sitting here, waiting for my contract. its 10pm! there isnt much left of today…

And when I’m supposedly going to start on Monday. BUH!

Well, theyve made me wait almost 4 weeks. Im sure they can’t complain if I take a day or 2 before signing. I dont even know what $$$ they are going to offer me!

Its been 3 1/2 weeks in the making(so far).

Yet it appears to be so close.

I talked to the COMPANY A this morning. They were signing their agreement with COMPANY B to provide me to HUGE BIG CORPORATION C.

And they said that I would get my contract this afternoon.

So I sit here, waiting to find out how much Money they are going to show me!

Got tickets to the Bledisloe on the 7th August.

What a shit fight to get them. I managed to get onto the site 10mins after tickets went on sale.
There was “limited availability” Platinum tickets
There was “Single Seats Only” Gold tickets
There was “Available” Silver tickets

As a group of 4, I couldn’t get any tickets other than silver.
But we are right on halfway, sitting up in the nosebleeds.
