Moby & The Hip Hop Adventure

28 02 2005

Moby & Teeth girls adventures into the land of hip hop have begun.

It was really good fun, unco-ordinated footwork and arm flailing. But just you wait for us to break out the synchronised dance moves :P

Now we just need matching trackys and sweat bands.

Backup plans dont always work

24 02 2005

Having 2 vehicles, I figured I could do alright with self rescue in times of trouble.

If my scooter breaks down, I go get my van and get my scooter.

If my van brakes down, I ring the NRMA.

They came, they saw, didn’t fix & I think they broke my central locking.

Its very weird when your remote doesnt work, then you go home & get the other one. Return, and the ‘broken’ then one works again.
Sigh.

Between that & no wind - Curse the BOM site. the numbers are always good, but when I get to the beach its gone into hiding. grr

Bring on the weekend.

Crazy ideas

22 02 2005

Im pondering many ideas, with more idea to be had in the next few weeks what my plans are. So exciting. Passive life is boring!

1 Week in

20 02 2005

Back at work and missing some of the best kitesurfing days of the year.

My body went into toxic shock within an hour of being back at work ina cubicle with no natural light & a chair that you just cant sit on without slouching or sliding off of.

Will be nice to see money going into my bank account though. Maybe after py day I will actually check what the damage from the holiday was.

Back in a Suit

14 02 2005

Well today my holiday oficially ends. I am now clean shaven and wearing a suit.

Lets see if I can survive a day at the office without topping myself!

Ahh Back in Sydney

10 02 2005

Caught up w shane before he headed back to NZ this morning, and met Saffron, the new flattie. Nanouk cooked up a wicked 3 course meal.

Entree:
Portobello Mushrooms grilled with Blue cheese, honey, red capsicum, Pecan nut, pepper

Main:
Green Curry.

Desert:
Dutch Trifle - Basically the same as kiwi trifle except they use Sponge Fingers which are harder than kiwi sponge. almost like a biscuit.

Port MacQuarie & Wallis Lake

7 02 2005

Dropped into Port MacQuarie for lunch, didn’t see anything enticing to stay so moved on to the great lakes. I can see why the KitePower roadtrip spent many days at lake wallis. It is HUGE! I would love for some wind tomorrow. Either there on in the surf I dont care.

Went for a swim at Boomerang Bay. Was going to go to the spit @ Smiths but was running low on petrol and put of on the long gravel road access. Maybe good in a Southerly…

Will head to Jimmys/ Hawks Nest if no luck. Not far to go now to be back in Sydney, but no rush.

Cant believe my holiday is coming to an end. Looks like a new job offer is coming my way. Very interesting.

Coffs, Dorrigo & Urunga

7 02 2005

Had lunch Sunday in Coffs Harbour. Nothing beats half a kilo of prawns :)

then headed inland as suggested in my book. To Dorrigo to do the rainforrest canopy walk. Now this sounds amazing. its a boardwalk up in the canopy. we arrived looking foward to it. However what is not said is that its only ~50m long! (this is ~60km from the highway). This was a bit of a let down, however the drive up there is quite nice, and would be fantastic on a bike.

We carried on to Dangar Falls, and had a very chily swim underneath it. Quite enjoyable and woke us up a bit.

Would have liked to see the ??other?? falls on the road to armidale, as apparently the tallest in Aussie @ 220m however couldnt find it on the map, and it was a 160km road.

Headed back for the coast. Stayed in Uranga. Very small place with a large river mouth and nice surf beach. However again no wind.

Finally moving on from Byron

7 02 2005

Well, I got a bit addicted to the lifestyle in byron. I was staying above the dive centre. they had some very comfy hammocks, and a few of the dive group were staying on so it was a great atmosphere.

Left Byron on Saturday (DOH -since Shihad were playing that night…) picked up Nanouk (another from the dive course) and headed south.
Dropped into Maclean. Man this town is from way back! crazy old style. The Supermarket even had a visitors book! A local reccommended where to camp… Camped at Sanson heads? (need to check this) great little spot way off the beaten track. river mouth and great little beach. Just a pity no wind to be seen anywhere!
